These Terms govern your use of Basismap, a web app for creating data-driven maps. By using Basismap, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Using Basismap
You may use Basismap to upload, style, edit, preview, and export maps and related data. You are responsible for the information you upload and for how you use the maps and exports you create.
Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Please use an email address you control and notify us if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
Your Content and Data
You keep ownership of the files, datasets, map projects, labels, styling choices, and exports you create or upload. By using Basismap, you give us permission to store, process, transform, display, and export that content only as needed to provide the service.
You are responsible for making sure you have the rights and permissions needed to upload and use any data or content in Basismap.
Exports
You may use maps exported from Basismap in your own editorial, design, presentation, client, or publishing work. You are responsible for checking the accuracy, licensing, attribution requirements, and suitability of your data and map output before publishing it.
Plans and Billing
Basismap may offer free and paid plans. Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe. Plan limits, pricing, and features may change over time, but we will not intentionally reduce access you have already paid for during the active billing period without notice.
You can cancel or change your subscription from your account billing settings. Unless required by law or stated otherwise, subscription payments are non-refundable after they are processed.
Acceptable Use
Please do not use Basismap to:
- break the law or violate someone else's rights;
- upload data you do not have permission to use;
- attempt to access another user's account or data;
- interfere with, overload, reverse engineer, or abuse the service;
- upload malware or harmful content; or
- use Basismap to create or distribute deceptive, harmful, or illegal material.
Service Changes and Availability
We may update, improve, pause, or discontinue parts of Basismap over time. We try to keep the service reliable, but we cannot guarantee that it will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free.
Third-Party Services
Basismap relies on third-party services such as Stripe, Google, AWS, DigitalOcean, Resend, and MapTiler. Those services may have their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
Termination
You may stop using Basismap at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create risk for the service or other users, or use Basismap in a way that is abusive or unlawful.
No Warranty
Basismap is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no guarantees that the service, map output, data processing, projections, basemap details, or exports will be error-free or suitable for every use case.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Basismap will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption related to your use of the service.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and may provide additional notice in the app or by email. Continued use of Basismap after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
